Core Team Interns


Would you like an opportunity to influence the faith lives of over a hundred high school students here at Christ the King? In the role of intern, under the guidance of the Director of Youth Discipleship John Hoving, you’ll have a chance to grow in leadership, build authentic community, develop programs, and attend one of the best Catholic schools of supernatural ministry.

2 positions are available: 1 male and 1 female intern (age 20-29).

August 2019- May 2020 (~15-20 hours per week)




Fellowship with Core Team and Director of Youth Discipleship along with the larger community at Christ the King.



Weekly meetings with the Director of Youth Discipleship to pray and plan. An opportunity to enrollment in the Encounter School of Ministry (If accepted, we will pay your tuition).


Base Stipend

Each intern is expected to raise their living expenses (We will provide fundraising training). Christ the King also provides a base stipend of $1000 to support each intern.


A Chance to Build the Kingdom

There are many areas to grow high school ministry here and interns get to use their unique gifts to have a powerful influence in leading others to Christ.



Ministry & Coordination

Interns will have a chance to minister to high school students and the Core Team through social outings, prayer, worship, and teaching.



Invitations to students who are not currently activated in their faith, along with those who are, to grow deeper in love with God.


Core Support

Provide support to the Core Team through activating community within the team and guiding individual growth.


Intercessory Prayer

Serve by interceding for the teens, Core Team, plus the parish at large.



Interns will communicate extensively with each other and the Director of Youth Discipleship to plan and grow the youth ministry at Christ the King.

  2. Phone/Skype Interview: If considered, a phone or Skype interview will take place.
  3. Summer Training: If accepted, you will have a chance to attend a 2 day training on how to fundraise your salary.
  4. On-Site Visit: You will have a chance to visit during our two major programs on Sunday and Tuesday evenings.
  5. Mid-Aug. 2019, Begin Internship
  6. Mid-May 2020, Internship Ends



What does a typical week look like?

Sunday afternoon/evening: Meeting with the Core Team and then facilitating Core Team small groups with teens.

Monday evening: Encounter School of Ministry Training for more information click here. If you are accepted, Christ the King will pay tuition.

Tuesday afternoon/evening: Running after school program for High School students preceding the established Praise and Worship night.

Flexible office hours coordinated with the other intern to meet with the Director of Youth Discipleship, plan Core Team events and meet one on one with Core Team members. 15-20 hours total invested weekly.


How much money do I need to fundraise?

A 2-day fundraising training will be provided. You need to fundraise enough money to provide for your monthly expenses. You are encouraged/expected to obtain another job in the area while you are here if you cannot fundraise enough.
