Are you missing community during COVID? Would you like to be with fellow parishioners and not wear masks? Do you like to get your hands dirty?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then join us on Saturday, June 5, for a work day as we create our parish garden, The Garden of Hope.
We’ll be creating the garden at 2600 Earhart Place (the “Annex,” next door to the CTK rectory). Some of the food will be given to the Catholic Community of Flint; the rest will be given to CTK families. We may even plant flowers for use in the Church.
No experience is necessary! Master Gardener Deanna White will be there to guide us. We’ll be building the garden, a rain catchment system, and a fence to keep out the deer.
We’ll be working from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Come for part or all of the day. All are welcome, especially children! Water and lunch will be provided.
We’re in need of gardening tools: spades, shovels, hoes, wheelbarrows, etc. If you have any that you’d like to donate, please contact Aimee Godfrey (firstname.lastname@example.org).
