Realign Resources for Mission information

On Thursday, November 18, 2021, the Diocese of Lansing’s Realign Resources for Mission (RRM) Committee published their Key Findings and Recommendations, which were given to Bishop Earl Boyea for his consideration. To read the report and watch a video with committee chair Fr. Mathias Thelen, giving an overview of the recommendations, please click here. That page includes other RRM resources, including a link to a video of the presentation given on Sunday, August 29, 2022, which explained the process and gave laity throughout the diocese the opportunity to ask questions and give input.

After reviewing the committee’s recommendations, Bishop Boyea announced in January 2022 that he was accepting the committee’s recommendations, including the implementation of the first set of parish groupings beginning in July 2022. Christ the King is part of that first set of parish groupings.

Christ the King belongs to the Eastern Washtenaw grouping, consisting of Christ the King, St. John the Baptist in Ypsilanti, and St. Joseph on Whitaker Road in Ypsilanti. Christ the King’s pastor, Fr. Ed Fride, serves as the moderator for the grouping. You can learn more in the March-April 2022 issue of The Open Door newsletter.
