Welcome to Christ the King’s Year-End Giving Guide! Our goal is to bring together in one location links to information about donations in general, and year-end donations in particular, that you may find useful when planning and making year-end financial gifts to Christ the King and other charities. We anticipate adding information to this post, so please check back often.
Many thanks to our parishioners and friends of the parish for your generosity to the parish. May the Lord Jesus, our King, Who cannot be outdone in generosity, bless you abundantly!
To make a donation by cash or check
Donations by cash or check can be made through the Sunday collection or delivered or mailed to our office: Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 Ave Maria Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48105. (It is recommended that cash gifts not be sent through the mail.) Please make checks out to “Christ the King Catholic Church.”
Please note:
- In order for a cash donation to be included in your year-end giving statement, it must be identified as your donation at the time you give it.
- For information about the timing of year-end donations by cash and check, please see the question below, “When does Christ the King have to receive a donation for it to count as a 2021 donation?”

Frequently Asked Questions
Below are a few questions that some donors have about donating to Christ the King. Please click on a question to see the answer. If you have other questions, please contact Director of Operations Ken Bogan (kbogan@ctkcc.net).
When does Christ the King have to receive a donation for it to count as a 2021 donation?
When making year–end donations to Christ the King and other charitable organizations, the IRS dates a contribution by “the time of its unconditional delivery.”
- For a check that is mailed, that is considered the date you mail the check.
- For a donation that is hand-delivered or put in the collection, the “unconditional delivery” date is the date that the donation was dropped off or the collection was taken. Therefore, a contribution put in the collection on Dec. 31 will count toward your 2021 tax deductions; a contribution dropped off on Jan. 1 will count toward your 2022 tax deductions.
For more information, please go to the IRS website and search for Publication 526, Charitable Contributions.
Can I make my DSA or Witness to Hope pledge payment through Christ the King?
Pledge payments for the 2021 Diocesan Services Appeal or the Witness to Hope campaign should be made directly to the Diocese of Lansing through its Catholic Foundation. For more information, please go to www.dioceseoflansing.org/catholic-foundation.
