This page is about the process for scheduling the Sacrament of Baptism at Christ the King for infants and young children. For information about the Sacrament of Baptism for older children, teens, and adults, please go to our RCIA page.
Baptismal Catechesis
The Diocese of Lansing requires parents to attend a Baptismal Catechesis class before the Baptism. (You only have to attend the class once.) Classes take place once a quarter. The next classes are scheduled for May 1, Aug 7, and Nov 6, pending interest from parents seeking Baptism for their children. You do not need to wait to have your baby before attending the class.
To register for Baptismal Catechesis, please contact Peter Vanicelli (pvanicelli@ctkcc.net or 734-929-0984) and complete the Baptismal Catechesis Registration Form by clicking on the button below. Before attending the class, please read the section on Baptism in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraphs 1213 to 1284.
Infant/Young Child Baptism
The Sacrament of Baptism for infants and young children is usually scheduled on the second Sunday of the month (except in May) at 12:45 pm. To schedule your child’s Baptism, please contact Peter Vanicelli (pvanicelli@ctkcc.net or 734-929-0984) and complete the Infant Baptism Registration Form by clicking on the button below.
Please note: Christ the King prefers to avoid scheduling private Baptisms whenever possible. Therefore, please contact Peter Vanicelli before contacting the priest or deacon you wish to have perform the Baptism.
In addition to the Infant Baptism Registration Form, any of your child’s godparents who are not registered members of Christ the King must complete a Godparent Eligibility Form. They must return this form to the parish at least three weeks before the scheduled Baptism. To access that form, please click on the button below.
